The Wheeler Street / New Dookie Road intersection is a critical intersection in the Shepparton industrial precinct, and abuts the Shepparton Regional Saleyards, Shepparton Industrial Park, and Watters Electrical.
The intersection was upgraded to a signalised intersection to better manage traffic flow through the intersection for heavy vehicles and improve pedestrian and cyclist safety.
Construction included installation of traffic signals and controlled pedestrian crossings, upgraded street lighting (engaged by the client, undertaken within our program in liaison with Powercor), stormwater drainage, concrete footpath and shared path works, the replacement of a section of a Goulburn Valley Water main and management of a significant Telstra asset.
The project was undertaken using lane closures to manage traffic. Our team worked collaboratively with landowners, stakeholders, Powercor, RRV and Telstra to minimise impacts throughout the project.
The works were overseen by Greater Shepparton City Council and RRV.
