Goulburn Valley based, locally owned Civil Contractors. Our contracts have included works with Greater Shepparton City Council, Shire of Moira and Shire of Strathbogie.
Streetscape revitalisation in the heart of Shepparton’s retail precinct – the Maude Street Mall.
This project is one of the highest profile projects undertaken by Greater Shepparton City Council in many years. The project includes the construction of a bespoke children’s playground, custom shelters, custom concrete edging and seating and traffic signals. The electrical component of the work included solar panels, audio and a range of different lights including recessed furniture lighting, street lighting and 4m high tower lighting. The paving design included trafficable and non-trafficable areas featuring decorative cobble paver “river” throughout.
The landscaping component included retaining mature trees, and the installation of tree cells within the garden beds to allow for new large shade trees.
As a part of a federally funded project, JDC was required to achieve Office of Federal Safety Commissioner (OFSC) accreditation for this project. The prestart planning for the project required significant consultation with Greater Shepparton City Council’s community engagement team to ensure that programming and staging of the works did not conflict with the needs of traders in the Mall precinct.
The site was contained to a small footprint with limited access and egress and was constructed and opened in 4 stages.
This project demonstrates JDC’s ability to perform detailed civil works utilising multiple specialist subcontractors, whilst maintaining a minimal footprint to meet the requirements of stakeholders.
This project started in August 2021 and was completed within the allocated timeframe by December 2022.
